This 8-day safari combines Kenya’s Maasai Mara with Tanzania’s Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National Park — some of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. Beginning in Nairobi, you’ll journey through the Great Rift Valley into the Mara, continue across the Serengeti plains, descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, and end among Tarangire’s giant baobabs and elephant herds. Along the way, enjoy daily game drives, stunning landscapes, and opportunities to spot the Big Five, with optional cultural visits and balloon rides adding extra dimension to your adventure.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Transfer to Maasai Mara- (5 hours)
Our guide/driver and representative will meet you at your Hotel in Nairobi or the airport on arrival, and after a short briefing, depart for Masai Mara. Drive south along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to arrive in Maasai Mara by lunchtime. After lunch, relax at the camp/lodge before going for an evening game drive from 4 to 6 p.m.

Day 2 : Maasai Mara – Full Day
Spend the days on extensive game drives in the Mara Reserve. If you’re looking to see Big Cats, the Masai Mara National Reserve is an excellent place to spot them. The Mara has been called the Kingdom of Lions and these powerful hunters dominate these grasslands. Cheetahs are also common in the Mara, as are hyenas and smaller predators such as jackals. You’ll have an excellent opportunity to spot them while enjoying game drives across the Mara plains. Picnic lunch will be at a good spot by the Mara River.
Alternatively, you can have morning and evening game drives with part of the day spent at the camp/lodge enjoying its facilities.
Optional Activities: a visit to Maasai Village ($30 per person) & a Balloon ride ($480 per person)

Day 3: Maasai Mara– Transfer to Serengeti via the Isebania border (Approx. 7-8 hours)
Have breakfast then depart for Serengeti passing through the Isebania border. Carry packed lunch with you from the camp because you will arrive at the park past lunch hour. Have a game drive as you enter the park and later drive to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Alternatively, take a flight to Serengeti to arrive by early afternoon. The extra cost for this is $658 per person.

Day 4: Serengeti – Full Day
Spend the day with a full-day game drive within the Great Serengeti. Serengeti is the home to Africa’s Big Five. There will be a picnic lunch during the day.
Alternatively, have morning & afternoon game drives.
Optional Activities: Hot air balloon ride, sundowners, bush breakfast

Day 5: Serengeti – Transfer to Ngorongoro (Approx. 3 hours)
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater with a short stop at Olduvai Gorge. Check in at the lodge and have lunch. There will be no other game drive, so spend the remaining hours at leisure enjoying walking around the surrounding areas and exploring the lodge’s facilities.
Ngorongoro is a conservation area known for its breathtaking natural beauty and unique ecosystem. The area is centered around the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The Crater is home to an incredibly diverse array of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceros, and Cape buffalos although some can be hard to find. In addition to wildlife, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is also home to the Maasai people, who have been living in the area for centuries and continue to maintain their traditional way of life.

Day 6: Crater Tour–Transfer to Tarangire (Approx 3 hours)
After breakfast, check out of the lodge with a packed picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor, which is home to numerous plains game. Spend the morning at the foot of the crater and have lunch at one of the famous picnic spots in the park. Later, depart for Tarangire National Park.
Overnight: Tarangire Kati Kati/ Tarangire Sopa Lodge/ Elephant Springs/ Tarangire Treetops Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 7: Tarangire National Park – Full Day
Have morning & afternoon game drives on this day. Alternatively, have a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.
Tarangire is a less crowded park, well known for huge herds of elephants and baobab trees.
Overnight: Tarangire Kati Kati/ Tarangire Sopa Lodge/ Elephant Springs/ Tarangire Treetops Lodge
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Day 8: Tarangire – Transfer to Arusha (Approx. 4 hours)
Have another last game drive then return to the lodge for breakfast. Thereafter, depart Tarangire for Arusha. Arrive and have lunch before dropping off at your hotel or airport for your outbound flight.
