Governors' Camp

Governors' Camp is one of the Mara's oldest and most celebrated tented camps, positioned on the banks of the Mara River inside the national reserve, within a short drive of the most famous wildebeest crossing points. Founded in 1972, it carries the atmosphere of East Africa's golden safari era: proper canvas tents, silver service dining, and the timeless ritual of morning game drives and sundowner cocktails on the riverbank.
The Governors' Camp Collection operates three camps in the Mara ecosystem, including the exclusive Little Governors' (accessible only by boat) and Governors' Mugie House in Laikipia. The main camp's 37 tents, experienced guiding team, and river-edge location make it an exceptional choice for the Great Migration, while its year-round resident lion and leopard populations deliver extraordinary game-viewing outside the peak season months.
