Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp

Mbuzi Mawe, meaning 'wild goat rock', is a distinctive tented camp in the central Serengeti built dramatically into and around a series of ancient granite kopjes, creating a natural theatre of rock, bush, and savannah. The camp's 20 tents are positioned along the kopje edges with open savannah views, and the rocks themselves are frequented by leopard, hyrax, and the resident lion pride that uses the kopjes as a lookout.
As a Serena Hotels property, Mbuzi Mawe benefits from consistent standards, experienced guiding, and good connectivity to the Northern Circuit. Its kopje setting gives it a distinctive atmosphere that sets it apart from the conventional tented camp formula, and the proximity to Seronera's year-round predator population makes the wildlife-viewing reliably excellent.
