Overview
The 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari is a 4-day safari through Kigali & Volcanoes National Park, designed and operated by Saringi Tours. Based in Nairobi and women-led, Saringi has been building private African itineraries since 2018. This route takes in Volcanoes National Park, with each day sequenced to put you in the right place at the right time for wildlife.
Gorilla trekking in this part of East Africa requires specialist knowledge, advance permits, and a reliable local network. Saringi handles all of it: permits, guide allocations, and lodge bookings are managed on your behalf. The itinerary is private and fully flexible. Dates, pace, and accommodation can be adjusted at any point, and Kenya or Tanzania wildlife days can be added if you want to extend the journey.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (approx. 2.5 hrs)
Arrive at Kigali International Airport. Our driver meets you and, after a brief stop for lunch in Kigali, drives north through Rwanda's famed Thousand Hills to Volcanoes National Park. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and gorilla trek orientation briefing.
Day 2Mountain Gorilla Trekking: Volcanoes National Park
Early breakfast before assembling at the park headquarters in Kinigi for trekker briefing and ranger allocation. Set out through farmland and then into the ancient Hagenia and bamboo forest. Treks range from 2–6 hours depending on the gorilla family's location. Spend one extraordinary, permit-allotted hour with a habituated gorilla family. Return to the lodge for lunch and a celebratory afternoon.
Day 3Golden Monkey Trekking
After breakfast, head out to track Rwanda's endangered golden monkeys: brilliant orange and black primates that live exclusively in the bamboo forests of the Virunga volcanoes. After the trek, afternoon at leisure or optional visit to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund's Karisoke Research Centre for an insight into decades of gorilla conservation work.
Day 4Volcanoes NP – Kigali – Departure
Leisurely morning at the lodge with optional guided village or forest walk. Drive back to Kigali (approximately 2.5 hrs), arriving in time for a city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial: a moving and essential reflection on Rwanda's remarkable transformation. Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight. End of services.
