The Mahale Chimpanzee & Katavi Wilderness Safari is a 8-day safari through Mahale Mountains & Katavi National Park, designed and operated by Saringi Tours. Based in Nairobi and women-led, Saringi has been building private African itineraries since 2018. This route takes in Serengeti, with each day sequenced to put you in the right place at the right time for wildlife.

Bush and beach is one of East Africa's most satisfying combinations, and this 8-day itinerary gets the balance right: proper wildlife days in prime game country, then a coastal or island stay to wind down. Transfers, accommodation, and logistics are all managed by the Saringi team in Nairobi. Dates, lodge category, and duration can be adjusted to suit your schedule.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Fly via Arusha or Dar es Salaam to Mahale, accessible only by light aircraft and then a short boat transfer across Lake Tanganyika to camp. The approach by boat, with the Mahale Mountains rising directly from the water's edge, is one of Tanzania's great arrival experiences. Afternoon at leisure on the lake shore.
